QUEERCLASH CODE OF CONDUCT
Queerclash is built on safety, mutual respect, and community. We want everyone—skaters, volunteers, referees, and spectators—to feel welcome, supported, and safe throughout the weekend.
Safety, Wellbeing & Event Integrity
Look Out for Each Other
Safety comes first. If you feel unsafe, get hurt, or notice someone struggling, tell an organiser, referee, or volunteer straight away.
Respect Every Identity
Treat everyone with dignity. We welcome people of all sexualities, genders, races, abilities, cultures, visa statuses, and faiths.
Pronouns & Respectful Language
Use respectful language and always use people's correct pronouns. Mistakes happen—just correct yourself and move on without making it a scene.
Keep Control on the Ice
Play safe and stay in control. Reckless skating, intentional hits, fights, and rough stuff are strictly not tolerated.
Respect the Referees
Accept the referee and linesperson's calls without arguing. They are here to keep games safe, fun, and fair.
Follow Medical Advice
Listen to first aid staff and medics. If a medic says you should not skate after an injury or head knock, you stay off the ice.
Sober on the Ice
Never skate under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Illicit substances are not allowed anywhere on site.
Care for Venue & People
Make newer skaters feel welcome, look after the change rooms, and treat IceHQ staff and volunteers with respect.
Zero Tolerance Policy & Breach Procedures
Because Queerclash runs across a single weekend, we cannot run extended mediation sessions during games. To keep our community safe, we operate under a clear zero-tolerance policy regarding discrimination and violence.
Zero Tolerance for Discrimination
Homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, racist, ableist, or sexist behaviour—on the ice, in the stands, or online—will result in immediate removal. Our community's safety and wellbeing always come first.
Zero Tolerance for Violence
Any intentional attempts to injure, fight, or intimidate others on or off the ice are strictly banned. Hockey is fast and physical, but we are all here to play hard, have fun, and go home unhurt.
Immediate Consequences
If someone breaks these rules, tournament organisers may eject them from the game, suspend them for the rest of the weekend, and ask them to leave the venue.
Non-Refundable Policy on Ejection
If you are removed from the tournament for breaking this code of conduct, your registration fee will not be refunded. Queerclash Ltd cannot cover travel, accommodation, or other personal expenses.
Tournament Code of Conduct Acknowledgment
"I agree to the Queerclash Code of Conduct. I commit to playing safe, respecting my teammates, opponents, referees, and volunteers, and helping keep the rink welcoming for everyone."
